I been workinnnn, I been workinnnn... #BeyonceVoice

    K.Nicole
I have had the craziest work schedule.. I do marketing & sales for this luxury women's clothing brand called K.Nicole.

K.Nicole consist of to fabulous power houses: Kera Anderson & Nicole Rae Styer (owner of N.R.S. Boutique in South Philadelphia). The two met in Nicole's shop, connected creatively and have collaborated ever since.

These two gems are living proof of that "go with your gut" instinct. They didn't wait for opportunity to come their way, they vigorously dragged her out of the stylish streets of their extravagant imaginations on to a blank sketch pad.

En'Viola  ~ K.Nicole was born. Since then the ladies have done two shows in New York Fashion week. With their 3rd collection debuting on September 11,2014 @Pier59 (Chelsea Piers) In NY. The office has been chaotic, but amazing nonetheless. I normally spend my days making tons of emails & calls, but for once I got to play at work.

This sketch was inspired by a piece from their SS15 collection "Kera&Nicole".
 Here's my process...

That's it! You know the deal, water color, prisma colored pencils, ink.... And of course I transformed it into a digital painting. Hope you enjoyed..

Leave comments & feedback.. Thanks dolls..

Feeling Fall

#DOTD
My Drawing of the Day

Recently I've been slightly obsessing over leaves, stealing them from any tree I found interesting and bringing them home to study. I was inspired by the deep purple and green combination on this one tree (I don't know the name of it) that I kept seeing. Unfortunately when I got home and put the leaf on my light table I realized I had picked an all green one. Nonetheless I started to do little color sketches and line drawings. Just about everything that inspires me evolves into a garment interpretation.

I started this a week or two ago, unfortunately I got busy with work and left it unfinished. Finally, I got tired of looking at a pitiful water color. I thought that I would just finish it with an ink outline but of course it evolved into mixed media, and finally a digital painting. I skipped a few steps in the documentation process, but you get the picture.  I'm pretty satisfied with it, hope you enjoy too. Leave comments, questions. Thanks!

No purple but I like the hint of brown

The leaf I picked was green but I was inspired by the other leaves w/ more of a gradation

Added a color pencil outline, Before BG detail

Digital painting: Played with the contrast and texture a bit in PS

              Until next time,

Marker exercise

                                                                        Blood Fairy

Being at home in my new studio in between work and decorating I've managed to find time to sketch a few things here and there. What is my inspiration you ask? My Tombow brush tip markers. No literally, every time I glance over at my markers I just imagine the feeling of them against paper and tons of silhouettes pop into my mind. This is my first complete illustration since I graduated in May. I missed drawing, but now I have time to do it, more images coming soon.

In honor of the infamous #tbt I figured I'd also post a very fitting throwback of an old piece I made back in school that came to mind once this drawing was done.

New Home NEW STUDIO!

My new Creative HUB!

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted. Lots of great things have
been happening for me. I moved into a new place, started a new job, but best
of all I finally started the process of setting up my new home studio. It's obviously
under major construction, but give me a few weeks and you will be introduced to
a fabulous transformation. In the mean time check out some of my snapshots I took of
my new pride and joy.

Old art from school

I'm so excited about my NEW SPACE!

Okay, so look forward to my new up and coming post. I'm still in
major transition mode but feel free to leave me comments and I will
respond asap. Thanks guys. xoxo

Thesis Show: Detox

Obviously it's been quite a while since I've posted. I didn't realize how much my last three weeks of school really took a toll on me until it was all truly over. All the time I spent preparing to make my show "a thing" was summed up in two 3 hour openings on May 2nd & May 3rd. It was amazing to see how everything came together. It was also extremely draining to see all my hard work come down so abruptly. The show was up from the 2nd to the 8th, but it literally took me 20 min to take down it was hard to swallow the bittersweet truth that it was all over. Anyways here is a long overdue recap of everything that all went down. Enjoy!
Final prep before the video shoot

Dyed tights & footies just for detail, I cant get over these colors!

A little handmade inspiration for my sculpture pieces. Making these little ladies are so fun!

Combinations: Synesthesia
Creative Direction: Keturah Benson

When I hear music, I see color. I wasn’t aware that this was not the case for everyone else around me, but the idea of sound transferred into light seems quite natural to me. Synesthesia is the subjective sensation of a sense other than the one being stimulated. For example, a sound may evoke sensations of color. Synesthesia is also known as the neurological condition that causes a blending of the senses. This sensation has long been linked to creativity.

For this piece I imagined the colors I felt would best evoke sensibility, and once I decided on them I searched for a minimalistic sound to best express them. With sound comes motion, searching for movement that would best convey the colors I imagined for this piece fell into place when I honed in on specific gestures I became heavily attracted to. Once I had a complete vision of the direction I wanted to go in I reached out to the people who I felt could elaborate on my vision, bring it to life, and make it stronger.

In my collaboration with dancers, a musician, and a filmmaker I demonstrate the complex interplay between personal experience and artistic creation. Creating form with color, movement and dimensional sound I am able to translate ethereal experiences tangibly.

The Craft & Material Studies space was beautiful

I had the video on loop in the space for those who missed the performance.

Unfortunately these forms have yet to be professionally photographed, but the line quality is beautiful.

More post coming soon! Now that I'm out of school I will be sure to post any sketches for new ideas I have. Leave lots of feedback guys! I appreciate it all!

Oh P.S. I graduated!  =)
